What is Nia

Nia is an amazing cardio fitness that combines all the best elements of dance, martial arts, & wellness.
Nia began the fusion fitness revolution on the west coast 25 years ago, has traveled the globe, and is now flourishing in Boston & New York.
Bonnie is dedicated to bring this established, yet still growing, form of healing movement to Central Massachusetts.
What truly separates Nia from other forms of fusion fitness is its body-mind-spirit integration and its focus on healing movement.

Nia says that fitness & wellness can also be pleasurable, and gives students a chance to really feel fantastic during their workout.
Nia increases the pleasure of living in your body; Nia creates weight loss and proper weight maintenance; Nia strengthens muscles, improves muscle tone,
and increases muscle definition; Nia calms the mind and relieves stress; Nia increases grace, flexibility and endurance; Nia builds reservoirs of chi
and improves cognitive functioning. And so much more!

Bonnie Wallace’s love of music, dance & healing led her to complete her certification as a Nia Instructor in 2006.
Prior to that, she received her board certification as a Music Therapist from Arizona State University and worked with a wide range of individuals in
various therapeutic settings. She has spent extended time studying and practicing the Alexander Technique, a method for improving ease and freedom of
movement, balance, support and coordination.
Bonnie’s Nia classes focus on allowing the body to move in ways that maximize awareness, eliminate
discomfort, and cultivate self-love.
Simply stated her goal is to share Nia classes in the Worcester area with students who love to move.
